INTRO
Fashion is at a turning point where sustainability is no longer optional but essential. Circular design offers a transformative approach to reduce waste and regenerate resources, challenging designers to rethink the entire lifecycle of garments.
This competition invites candidates to explore innovative strategies that merge creativity with responsibility, proving that fashion can lead the way toward a more ethical and forward-thinking industry. Through research, experimentation, and
storytelling, participants will demonstrate how design can become a catalyst for positive change.
BRIEF
The challenge is to create a capsule collection of four original outfits that embody the principles of circularity. The project should integrate upcycling, deadstock materials, and regenerative processes to minimise environmental impact while maintaining strong aesthetic and functional qualities.
Investigate circular design strategies, research sustainable materials and develop a narrative that highlights the lifecycle of each garment.
The outcome should balance innovation and feasibility, showcasing how fashion can combine style, ethics, and resource efficiency. This is an opportunity to redefine fashion as a system that values longevity, creativity, and responsibility.
