INTRO

Fashion is cyclical, with iconic garments frequently revisited and redefined. The aim is to pay homage to the past while pushing the boundaries of contemporary fashion design encouraging creativity, experimentation, and a thoughtful understanding of fashion history. Through this exploration, we create a dialogue between past, present, and future fashion, celebrating the richness of our fashion heritage while anticipating the trends of tomorrow.

BRIEF

Candidates are asked to design imaginative reinterpretations of iconic garments from established international fashion brands. This project invites candidates to breathe new life into these timeless pieces by established international fashion brands, creating a collection of three outfits that marry the aesthetic language of the original designer with candidate’s unique style.

Final task is to develop a collection of three outfits that retain the essence of the original designs yet infused with candidate’s distinct aesthetic language.

Candidates should carefully select pieces that reflect the silhouette, mood, and design ethos of the original designer, then apply your creative vision to transform these pieces into more contemporary outfits. This could involve adapting the cut, fabric, details, or even the intended function of the garments.

The submissions should clearly demonstrate candidate’s understanding of the original brand’s design philosophy and the specific iconic garments chosen, as well as their ability to innovate and adapt these designs to a unique style considering how the collection will speak to today’s fashion landscape and potential wearers.
