INTRO
Contemporary fashion design thrives at the intersection of creativity, sustainability, and technology. Designers today navigate a rapidly evolving landscape, addressing global challenges such as climate change, cultural shifts, and digital innovation.
With a focus on ethical practices and forward-thinking solutions, the modern fashion panorama embraces both tradition and transformation, pushing boundaries to redefine style and its impact on society.
BRIEF
Participants are tasked to design a fashion collection that addresses one of the pressing challenges of the 21st century, blending creativity, innovation, and responsibility. The collection should reflect a unique aesthetic vision while integrating sustainable practices, new technologies, or innovative materials. Candidates are tasked to choose one of the following themes:
• CIRCULAR FASHION: creating designs using upcycled, recycled, or biodegradable materials to minimise waste and promote a circular economy.
• CULTURAL REINTERPRETATION: reimagining traditional techniques or cultural symbols for contemporary audiences, fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
• CLIMATE-RESPONSIVE DESIGN: developing garments that adapt to environmental changes or extreme weather conditions.
